How to annotate screenshots for clear design feedback

Make design and content feedback unambiguous with arrows, callouts, highlights and numbered points on the live page.

“The spacing feels off near the top” can mean a dozen things. An arrow on the exact spot and a short note removes the guesswork.

The annotation toolkit

  • Arrow (A): point at one specific thing.
  • Rectangle (R) or Ellipse (O): outline an area.
  • Text (T): a short note; add a background colour so it stays readable.
  • Highlight (M): mark text or a row without hiding it.
  • Numbered step (N): order your points so replies can say “about #3…”.

Keep it readable

  • Use one accent colour for feedback, and a second only for a different category such as copy versus layout.
  • Keep notes to one sentence, and put longer explanations in your message.
  • Capture an element or region instead of a whole page when only one section matters.
  • Capurize remembers your last style for each tool, so your feedback stays consistent.

Tip: Shift keeps shapes square and snaps arrows to 45°. Alt turns off snapping while you drag.
