How can we help?

Installation, troubleshooting and answers to common questions.

Install Capurize

  1. Open the Capurize page on the Chrome Web Store and click Add to Chrome.
  2. Click the puzzle-piece icon in the Chrome toolbar and pin Capurize so it is always one click away.
  3. Open any web page, click the Capurize icon and choose Full page.

Capurize works in Google Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers that support Chrome extensions, such as Microsoft Edge and Brave.

Troubleshooting

“Chrome does not allow extensions to capture this page”

Chrome blocks every extension on its own pages (addresses starting with chrome://), the Chrome Web Store and some built-in viewers. Open a normal website and try again.

Parts of the page are blank or images are missing

Some sites only load images as you scroll. In Capurize Options, set Wait after each scroll to 400 ms or 1 second, or scroll to the bottom of the page once before capturing.

A header or banner repeats down the image

Make sure Hide sticky headers & footers is on in Options. It keeps fixed headers in the first screen only.

A tab says Capurize was updated

If the extension updates or reloads while a Studio tab is open, save your work and reload that tab (F5).

Keyboard shortcuts

Alt+Shift+P captures the full page and Alt+Shift+V the visible area. In the Studio press ? for every editing shortcut. See also screenshot shortcuts for Windows and Mac and copying screenshots to the clipboard.

Frequently asked questions

Are my screenshots uploaded anywhere?

No. Captures are processed and stored inside your browser on your own computer. Capurize has no servers that receive your screenshots, no analytics and no tracking.

How does full-page capture work?

Capurize scrolls the page one screen at a time, takes a screenshot of each part and stitches them together into one image. Sticky headers are hidden after the first screen so they are not repeated.

Can I export a long page as a PDF?

Yes. Long captures are split into pages automatically, one per screen by default or A4/Letter if you prefer, with cuts placed between lines of text. Export them as a multi-page PDF or as numbered images.

Is the blur tool safe for hiding sensitive information?

Blur, pixelate and solid redactions are burned into the exported image, so the hidden content is removed from the file rather than covered by a layer. Solid redaction is the strongest option.

Which pages can’t be captured?

Chrome does not allow extensions to capture its own pages (such as chrome:// settings pages) or the Chrome Web Store. Everything else, including pages behind a login, can be captured.

The capture shows a header repeated or missing content.

Open Capurize Options and keep “Hide sticky headers & footers” on. For pages that load images as you scroll, increase “Wait after each scroll” to 400 ms or 1 second.

How do I capture a chat thread or a panel that scrolls on its own?

Choose Select region, drag over the panel, then press S (Capture with scroll). Capurize scrolls inside that panel and captures all of it. Apps that load older messages only as you scroll up need to be scrolled up first.

Where are my captures stored, and how do I delete them?

In your browser’s storage for the extension. Delete a project from the Studio home screen (⋯ → Delete). Removing the extension deletes all of its stored projects.

Can I move my projects to another computer?

Yes. In the Studio choose ⋯ → Save project file to get a .capurize file, then open it with Capurize on the other computer.

Keyboard shortcuts

Alt+Shift+P captures the full page and Alt+Shift+V the visible area. Region and element capture can be given shortcuts at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. In the Studio, press ? to see every editing shortcut.
